Keep your skin, body and hair healthy this Winter with these easy fixes that'll help combat the most common Winter beauty concerns.

Thirsty skin?

Probably the most common Winter beauty concern of them all is that of the dreaded dehydration. Changes in the weather combined with super-hot showers can wreak havoc on skin's moisture levels, regardless of your skin type.

If you're not willing to sacrifice your shower time or heat level- don’t worry, we don't blame you, incorporating a product that contains Hyaluronic Acid is going to be a skin-changing move. Hyaluronic Acid is a large sugar molecule that’s known to hold moisture in between the cells, which in turn ensures that the skin remains hydrated. One of our top Hyaluronic heroes is Medik8's Hydr8 B5, a silky serum which delivers long-lasting moisture and hydration for a smooth, plump complexion.

The asap Ultimate Hydration is another great Hyaluronic Acid-formulated product. This little guy is jam-packed with a nourishing combo of  Sweet Almond Oil and Shea Butter, to help increase moisture levels, while reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. For a more refreshing and light-weight option, try the Clinique Moisture Surge 72 Hour Auto Replenishing Hydrator, a gel-cream formula that hydrates skin intensively for 72 hours with its auto-replenishing technology, which allows the skin to replenish itself.

Nobody likes chapped lips

Let's face it, dry, flaking lips aren't the best look and they certainly don't feel great either. Fun fact- lips are actually one of the only parts of the body that don't produce oil, meaning that it's up to us to manually hydrate the area.

If you're wanting fuller-looking lips try asap's hydrating lip balm, formulated with Niacinamide to stimulate collagen renewal while it hydrates or Vida Glow's Collagen Lip Balm which nourishes and soothes dry lips while also assisting with collagen production.

Another great option is Lanolips 101 Ointment Multipurpose Superbalm, which is a great Winter beauty all-rounder and purse must-have. This super dense formula can be used to treat extremely chapped lips, dry cuticles and itchy skin, or to moisturise dry nasal passages, brittle nails and insect bites.

Legs feeling a little scaly?

Excessive dryness is a common Winter beauty concern that usually occurs when skin is not able to keep enough water in its top layer. In order to counteract this, add a hydrating body oil or moisturiser to your daily routine and apply straight from the shower to seal moisture into the skin.

Our top picks are the Kora Organics Noni Glow Body Oil, a Noni Extract. nourishing Rosehip and Sunflower Seed infused body oil, which delivers long-lasting moisture and hydration. Skin Juice Berry Body Oil is another great product, especially for those on the search for a body oil that's more on the light side.

If you're experiencing flaking along with dryness, give NIP + FAB's Glycolic Fix Body Cream a go. This little guy is formulated with powerful glycolic acid, salicylic and lactic acids, which naturally exfoliate and retexture, resulting in smoother and brighter-looking skin.

Your hair needs lovin' too

When the Winter months are wreaking havoc on your usually perfect hair game, there are a few steps you can take to stop split-ends, damage and to simply ensure your hair is looking its best.

  • Cut down on heated styling or use a protective spray if you can't live without your straightener.
  • Don't leave the house with damp hair, which can cause breakage and colour fading.
  • Incorporate a nourishing treatment into your hair routine, we love Wella Professional's INVIGO Nutr-Enrich Mask, which moisturises instantly.
  • Hydrate and nourish by using a hair oil overnight. Cult-fave Moroccanoil Treatment is our go-to, it deeply nourishes and repairs without leaving behind any excessive oily residue.
  • Don't overlook the power of a leave-in spray. Milk_Shake's Leave-In- Conditioner only takes a few seconds to apply but makes all the difference when it comes to keeping the hair feeling moisturised, healthy, soft and full of life.
