OUR STORY

Bleaching. Teasing. Heat styling…Hollywood in the late 1950s was a scary place for an actress with baby fine hair and a sensitive scalp—and Redken’s founder Paula Kent was no different. Inspired by the desire to help those in search of gentle, high-performance, science-led products, Paula joined forces with her hairdresser, Jheri Redding, to study the chemistry of healthy hair. A year later, Redken launched with three products and an intensive education program for hairdressers.
